This summer is zooming by!! I have so many things that I still want to do in the yard: build a fence, build a rock wall, finish planting the things that I still have in pots.... It is already time to take a look at my successes and failure - those things that became "WOW!!!" spots in the garden as well as the places that I think could use some changes. Many things in the vegetable garden have been harvested. The onions are just about ready to pull up. Goodness what a great year for onions. Was it all the rain that we got this year? They are huge onions! Despite the fact that many things are winding down, I have planted zucchini because I never had a chance to plant it earlier. I'm not sure if I will get anything, but I had a few extra seeds, so what the heck. They have germinated! I also planted some lettuce last week and it is growing. If the deer don't get it, I may have a fall crop.

Spring is coming now
I know now that spring is coming. The Bangor Garden Show is this weekend. It will be an opportunity to see something green and growing. It is just amazing what the landscapers are doing! I wish them all luck. I am inside working on creating my web page for one of my last classes....an ecommerce class. I am so anxious to graduate and have this studying craziness over with! I found out that Erik and Sarah will be here for my graduation. I am so excited that they are coming. Now, it makes it even harder to concentrate on school!!!!!
Betty's crocus are flowering and have been since last week. Mine are just starting to poke up. I'm watching them like a hawk!

I'm dreaming of spring
This is my first posting to my first blog. I hope to be in touch with fellow gardeners particularly in Maine. My goals to spend more time writing about gardening can only be helped by frequent contact with more gardeners......sort of like market research. I want to know what gardeners are interested in.
I've been studying garden magazines, catalogs and web sites.....dreaming of spring. Today is a cold Saturday in Maine but Monday is supposed to be in the 40's and rain! While I look forward to the snow disappearing it is still too early. I know that there are still many cold days and nights left to winter and that snow - as cold as it is - is protecting the plants from cold desiccating winds.
